opensuse 10.2 and 11.0 - trouble when displaying accentuated characterson F1-F6 consoles - Nvidia graphic driver related ?
Hi group,
Minor annoyance which I'd like to understand... When I'm at runlevel 3, all is perfect on F1 to F6 consoles. When I'm at runlevel 5, all is perfect on X display. But when I'm at runlevel 5 and I go to the F1 console, all accentuated characters are badly displayed, and even semi-graphics characters (in Yast curses mode). When I downgrade runlevel from 5 to 3, all is perfect again with F1-F6 consoles. Did anybody has experienced same behaviour ? Any explanation (and cure, if possible) ? Config: Most boxes under openSuse 10.2 (and 11.0 also, still in test period) 64 bits, and all with Nvidia graphic cards, and latest rpm specifically packaged for openSUSE from nVidia. (same trouble occured also with previous Nvidia drivers). My feeling is it is related to nVidia proprietary graphic driver, but not sure... Thanks for any feedback, Fabrice |
