Start Menu program locations?

I have modified my start menu with menu editor and I'm trying to make
heads or tails of how OpenSUSE handles shortcuts. I've been using XP for
a long time and under XP there was a shared start menu and a user start
menu. Does SUSE follow a similar convention?

So far I have located..

/home/atlantis/.local/share/applications

applications:/

/opt/kde3/share/applications/kde

Thanks
SD

Re: Start Menu program locations?

Thanks, now question is why do I need four locations and is it safe to
merge to one location?

Please do not toppost. Many people who are able to answer you in detail
will just skip people who do toppost.

You are standing at the end of a road before a small brick building.
Around you is a forest. A small stream flows out of the building and
down a gully.
