A good webcam for opensuse
HI, I have bought a Philips SPC1000NC webcam, and it has been a struggle to let it working on my suselinux. Anyway, it still has problems. I only can use it by xawtv only, but not with skype nor msn, or, it works only randomly, sometimes it work, mostly it doesn't, say 95% it doesn't, 5% it works. something strange happens, for sometimes I see a /dev/video1 is created, sometimes /dev/video0 is created. When it works with kopete, it freezes when I close the setting page. I am getting crazy, so I have decided to buy a better one. I need an high resolution one, easy to install and using. Do you mean kopete or something like that? > I have an X86_64 OpenSuse 10.3 Perhaps it is because you are running the 64 bit version of suse. Do you really need the 64 bit? Unless you have a particular need (e.g. very large RAM) you would be better running the 32 bit, I think. Cheers, -G- |
