Ubuntu/Windows dualboot: Filesystem of a shared partition

Hi folks.

I'm currently running Ubuntu but will have to install Windows again in a
few days. Since I am doing a lot coding stuff, I'd like to be able to
reach my Subversion repository from both Ubuntu and Windows. The thing
is that my Ubuntu is installed in a LVM partition. I know of IFSExt2 for
Windows that allows me to read Ext2/3 partitions and also ntfs-3g to
mount NTFS partitions. The problem is that neither of them seems to
understand the permissions of the other.

So my questions ere: Which filesystem should I use for a partition that
both OSes can read and is there a way to keep unwanted users out?

Regards,
Markus

In ubuntu I mount a NTFS partition for root only so others don't get to
see the contents from this side. In windows its easy to set deny
privileges for unwanted guests.

So far, so good. This is what I am doing right now. I wonder if there is
a possibility to restrict only some folders on the filesystem, or to
do so on a per-user or per-group base.

Thanks so far,
Markus
