Pan in Ubuntu won't stay online
I use pan 0.132 (the version in the hardy repos). I'll settle down to
reading stuff in the newsgroups, and after a while pan won't go online anymore to fetch another article to read or to post a reply I've written. I have to close pan then start it up again to be able to carry on reading news. Any ideas how to fix this? I use Hardy i386 version. |

You may need to install libgnet2.0-0 as well. http://mirrors.kernel.org/debian/poo....91-2_i386.deb |

I would say that it is a problem with your news provider, it works fine for me. Sounds like the server your provider uses. -- // This is my opinion. |

Some open news providers like aioe.org limit you to 25 posts per day, and 700 "connections". Which means everything you do with the news software uses one of 700 hits. It sounds like a lot, but believe me, they go quickly, which might be the case with you. |

Turned out that my news provider (BT) didn't like the number of simultaneous connections Pan was trying to open. Setting 'connection limit' in the server detail to 2 has resulted in a reliable setup. (I think the default was 4) Keith |

I see a few people think this. I'm using motzarella.org. Anyone else noticed such problems? |
