Running XP in Ubuntu

Which is better, VMWare or Virtual Box? I have searched the Net but I
can't find step-by-steps instructions to set up XP in a Hardy Heron install.

Thanks,

Alias

I've just undergone the virtualbox route and followed this guide:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...458& t=770745

Hope this helps

Darryl.

I've not done vmware, but I tried virtualbox - it was quite easy to
install and set up to use - and to install another OS.

I have found many pages on how to set up virtual box, but none for
installing XP once you have the virtual box installed.

Click on New, give it a name "Windows XP", select the XP from the drop
down box, follow the rest of the setup. Put XP cd in drive click the
start arrow to install I believe.

Boot it from an XP CD or Image. Follow on-screen instructions.

Doing this right now. Put the install CD in the drive and make sure the
the CD ROM in VBOX has the pass through option checked. After you create
the image by pressing new and following the prompts, the install will
take off.
