[hardy-proposed] linux-image 2.6.24-20 problem with nvidia drivers

hello,

I have installed the new kernel image. Now xserver won't start up
because of a problem with nvidia-glx-new driver (the same with envyng
drivers). There are no problem with 2.6.24-19.

Have anyone experienced this problem?

thanks

I experienced a million problems with that driver, and avoid it like
the plague.

What new kernel?
Has anyone actually seen this new kernel?

I checked security notices and even synaptic, but there's no indication
of a new kernel. Latest kernel is still the 2.6.24-19.36, which came out
on July 15, 2008.

Am I missing something?

Mister Ignoramus is a bit of a doom-monger. He keeps warning people
about issues when in fact, it is his habitual tweaking that seems to
be causing his problems.

Don't worry. The Nvidia glx-new driver is functioning fantastically
well here on

$ uname -r
2.6.24-20-generic

How did you get that new kernel? I don't see it being offered by the
Update Manager.
