Change color Windows uses for encrypted files

To alter the color that Windows Explorer uses to display encrypted files:

1. Alter the rr, gg, and bb values in the following EncryptColor.reg file, using the table from tip 0573:

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer]
"AltEncryptionColor"=hex:rr,gg,bb,00

2. Merge the EncryptColor.reg file with the registry or run regedit /s EncryptColor.reg.
