My wife and I had a debate about this a while ago.

Her cousin had a secret and she told me about it (because we were pretty close back then), and she told me not to tell anyone, not even my wife. She knew if I told Melissa that she would tell everyone else in her family.

So I didn't tell Melissa what the secret was and I didn't give her any hints that I knew anything.

Then a few months later one of her friends told her about it and my wife was surprised. I told her that I knew about that for a few months, but I wasn't supposed to tell anyone.

She got mad at me for keeping the secret from her. I'm the type of person that doesn't betray trust, and trust means a lot to me, so if someone tells me a secret, I will keep it, and I won't tell anyone. Her cousin obviously trusted me to keep her secret and didn't trust anyone else with it.

How do you guys feel about that?

What would you have done in a similar situation?

well if andy or anyone else is keeping a secret from me, i am sure it is fine. some people do that because they aren't sure how someone is going to react. i dont care.....we are humans...we all keep secrets

trust is an important thing to me. if someone asked me to keep a secret and not tell anyone, i will do it, as long as its not something really bad.

if its something bad, then i might be obligated to tell someone, otherwise i don't see any harm in it.

we all have secrets,its part of our being human..she will get over it, will be able to move on..for me keeping my word is very important, for as long as my secret will not harm, kill or make other people miserable, i will keep my mouth shut.

i feel the same way mye.

i tell my husband just about everything. same witrh my dad now my mom i tell her nothing she has a bigger mouth then the lead cheerleader at cheer camp.

That's how Melissa is sometimes. Once she knows something she has to tell everyone she knows, which is why her cousin didn't want her to know yet.

I usually do tell her everything unless someone asks me not to tell anyone. Trust is important in a friendship just as it is in a relationship.

Trust is a big factor in any relationship..whether it is friendship or romantic relationship..keeping our word is one of the best thing we can give our friends..
