I don't have any problems with having a best friend that is the opposite sex and neither does my husband. I really think people that can't deal with it have their own personal insecurity issues they need to deal with and learn to get over it.
Hey I call my best girl friend my husband's girlfriend in passing and neighter fo them care. She's getting married next summer and I'm in her wedding. Like I said, get over it

That's exactly how I am too. Accept it or it ain't gonna work, friends are more important to me than a guy and I'm not going to give them up.
