defrag problem

Whenever I try to defrag I get a message that says Disk defragmenter has
detected the Chkdsk is scheduled to run the volume:(C). Please run Chkdsk/f.
I don't know what his means or what to do about it. I am new at this computer
stuff. Can anybody help me?

Reboot the PC and hopefully a Full CheckDisk will be performed prior to going into the
Windows XP GUI.

If it does, you can subsequently defrag drive "C:".

Re: defrag problem

If the diskchecking is not run by restarting, run this file, then restart
again, then you can try defrag again.
