Sudden Sound Problem/Dimension E510, Media Edition

I'm playing a Patsy Cline CD and it is great. I plug my earphones into the
front of my computer. No sound thru earphones. Now the nasty part--I
unplug the earphones and there is NO sound from my speakers. Ideas?
Thanks.

Like a fractious baby, your computer needs gentle rocking.

So go and find a suitable rock in your garden and hit your computer with
