Selecting "restart" causes the computer to loop
When selecting Start - Turn Off - Restart, the computer goes into a cycle of
a prograssion bar at the bottom of a black screen and then the Windows XP loading black screen, without ever progressing to the blue windows sign in screen. This does not happen if I choose Start - Turn Off - Shutdown, whereby the computer shuts down normally and restarts normally when turned back on again. When it gets into this cycling mode, the only way out seems to be to turn the power off and leave it for a while and then start the computer again. Can anyone tell me why it is doing this and can I do anything about it? -- Hagan |

Warm boot failure would imply some problem in you hardware drivers. Look at
your Event Viewer, and maybe then run: msinfo32 -- Was this helpful? Then click the Ratings button. Voting helps the web interface. http://www.microsoft.com/wn3/locales...eAPostAsAnswer Mark L.
