I have a Toshiba Satellite with Windows XP. Windows cannot load the device
driver for my Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-840S. Driver may be corrupted or missing
(Code 39). Any help would be really appreciated.

It seems the driver needs to be installed in Compatibility Mode for XP.
Create a shortcut to the driver install file, and rightclick for
'Properties' to set the mode.

Go to Toshiba's support site and download updated drivers for your DVD-RAM
drive for your exact Make/Model (not included in original post) per their
instructions.
