Right-click menu doesn't close

When I right-click on anything...the desktop, an icon, a link...anything, the
proper context menu comes up but instead of going away when I move the mouse
cursor away from the context menu window the menu stay open until I
left-click somewhere...anywhere. Sometimes just an innocent hover over
something results in a context menu that obscures what I am trying to read or
input to.

I have been all over the Knowledge Base, these newsgroups, and the Web for a
cure but to no avail.

I'm using Windows XP Home Edition 2000 with Service Pack 2.

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

That's the way it works for me, here, too. I consider it normal.
