Lost Ctrl+most keys
I installed a TV browser USB antenna, had problems and uninstalled it and now
various keyboard commands don't work: Ctrl+F, Ctrl+B, Ctrl+S, Ctrl+P and there my be others that I've not found. Does anyone know how to fix this? (I thought of reinstalling Windows but I've got SP2 and my disk is only SP1) Johnny |

Re: Lost Ctrl+most keys
Go to Start/Run, and type DEVMGMT.MSC , highlight all of the USB Root Hub
devices, Action menu, "Uninstall", then Action menu, "scan for hardware changes", to find the device drivers again automatically. -- Please use the Communities guidelines when posting. http://www.microsoft.com/wn3/locales...help_en-us.htm Mark L. Re: Lost Ctrl+most keys
Please read this through and please reply to the actual problem, not just the
first 4 words: When I'm using ANY Windows application or programme, when I type Ctrl+S, Ctr+B, Ctr+F, Ctr+P nothing happens. They used to work but not any more. Other similar command still do (like Ctr+V, Ctr+C, Ctr+X, Ctr+Z, Ctr+W, Ctr+I, Ctr+U and Ctr+V). Any idea on how to fix this? Johnny "Mark L. Re: Lost Ctrl+most keys
I know I should have set a restore point before installing but I neglected to
and the restore point I last set is so long ago that I really don't want to go back that far if I can help it ... unless XP sets restore points automatically every time you install hardware ? I DID think of reinstalling Windows but my disk is SP1 and my machine is SP2. Would it work if I could find a way to do it, do you think? XP normally sets a restore point every day. You should check to see what restore points you have. > I DID think of reinstalling Windows but my disk is SP1 and my machine is > SP2. Certainly it doesn't do it when the computer is powered off. > XP also normally sets a restore point before any software installation. I believe that's the installation routine that does that, not XP. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP - Windows Desktop Experience Please Reply to the Newsgroup |
