Problem using Windows XP reinstallation CD

I am having a problem reinstalling Windows XP on my Dell computer
using the reinstallation CD. Everything goes fine until I get to the
setup screen and press enter as directed to set up Windows XP. Nothing
happens. I am unable to activate any of the other options. Any help
would be appreciated.

Did you enter the BIOS to allow the PC to boot off your CD-ROM drive?

Yes, I booted up from the reinstallation cd.

Assuming you configured your PC's BIOS correctly (to boot off the CD-ROM
drive), perhaps your keyboard is preventing this from happening. I would
try again with another keyboard, but make sure it is a PS/2 keyboard.
Also, you may need to make sure that the BIOS setting for the keyboard
is correct.

Thanks for your help. The secret was to change the boot sequence in
the bios rather than to enter the boot menu after starting the
computer and then selecting to boot up from the cd drive.
