Explorer shuts down when accessing folder with large files

I have a sub folder in my My Videos folder that I am having trouble
accessing. What happens is when I access the folder, it will open in
thumbnail mode I will get the error window, "Windows Exporer has
encountered a problem and needs to close.....

The error signature is as follows:

AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.3156 ModName: qdv.dll
ModVer: 6.5.2600.2180 Offset: 00021f23

What can be done to correct this? The folder contains .avi and .mpg
files that were captured from a miniDV video camera and the only time
they can be accessed is when they are initially captured by the
program that captured them.

Any other time, I either get the above error if attempting to access
the folder through explorer or of another program tries to access the
folder, it will shut down with no error message.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
