Updates not installing on shutdown
I was prompted for some new updates and I allowed the automatic updates to
download and install the updates. When I shut down the PC next time, there is 2 updates that need to be installed on shutdown. Clicking on the shutdown icon to allow this, I get the usual prompt that update 1 of 2 is being installed and that the PC will shutdown when this is complete. I can leave the PC over 12 hours and it will never complete the first update. How can I determine what update is being applied? How can I determine what error is occuring or why the update is not completing? How can I remove these from my shutdown sequence? |

Re: Updates not installing on shutdown
Now this is a curly one.....there are a few dll files you need to run via
the 'run' option to enable this to update...probably due to your copy of xp not being validated. Only a suggestion but a friend of mine had this problem...you will find the answer if you 'google' your problem "Darren" <Darren@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:C07F2A5C-3C43-4DBA-AB70-7AEEE2AC9C59@microsoft.com... >I was prompted for some new updates and I allowed the automatic updates to > download and install the updates.
