Go to Start/Run, and type DEVMGMT.MSC , highlight the Keyboard device,
Action menu, "Uninstall", then Action menu,"scan for hardware changes", to find the device drivers again automatically. -- Please use the Communities guidelines when posting. http://www.microsoft.com/wn3/locales...help_en-us.htm Use the "Ratings" feature. Re: Dell Inspirion Q&z keyboard problem
Mark: I tried, but w/o success. [FYI: I would click on Uninstall, a
dialog box would say that I'd have to restart & I'd click OK, the computer would reboot and I guess it would automatically detect that the keyboard had been uninstalled because a dialog box would say that the computer has to restart (again) to install new hardware. It would, but the prolem persists.] In any event, just for clarification, all I have to do is depress the shift key and I get a letter: q or z. Any other thoughts? Thanks. Dan (PS: Typing this a different computer/keyboard.) Additionally, I messed up my registered email address: it is dcarterlaw@cox.net. -- Dan Carter "Mark L.
