XP Service Pack 3 - reboot problem

After installing Service Pack 3, my pc will not shut down, after it attempts
to shut down it automatically reboots. If I uninstall service pack 3, it
shuts down properly. Any suggestions on how to make service pack 3 to not
affect my shutdown?

RE: XP Service Pack 3 - reboot problem

99.9% of the time, the reason it attempts to shutdown but then restarts,is
a hardware conflict. If alot of add-ons exist, try removing them one at a time
till the source is located.Or,try moving the connections around, sound card to
other pci-slot,etc....
