Using switch
I've created a small templating/content management system for myself
and have a question about coding structure. What I am basically doing is generating pages by populating one template or another selected from a set of templates stored in a directory with data stored in a database and images, some stored in the database and some in directories accessed through inks in a database. The general structure I am using is a switch operator triggered by "GET" data which passes various variables from the get data through to the appropriate function that inserts appropriate data and images into the appropriate template, adding selected CSS and javascript functions as appropriate. The switch control data comes via the GET variables and the switch operator directs it to the appropriate function. I mentioned something about using a switch operator like this in a previous post and someone said something that sounded like they thought this was an inappropriate use of this operator. Does anyone have a comment about this? If so, what is the appropriate way to do this? Thanks, --Kenoli |
