Copying a file being used
I'm attempting to copy a log file from Windows
Event Log that is in c:\windows\system32\config directory. The problem is that at the moment i do that (using File.Copy method), the file is used by Windows and i get errors. How can i copy the file (or at least read from it) without stopping the service that is being logged in it? I've read that there's a facility to retrieve the data from event files called WEvtUtil.exe but it's available for Vista only. -- Regards Konrad Viltersten ---------------------------------------- May all spammers die an agonizing death; have no burial places; their souls be chased by demons in Gehenna from one room to another for all eternity and beyond. |
