Winword Caused an IPF in Module User32.dll

Works 2000 Err Msg: Winword Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module User32.dll

The information in this article applies to:

Microsoft Works Suite 2000
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SYMPTOMS
========
When you run Microsoft Word 2000 from Microsoft Works Suite 2000, you may receive the following error message:

Winword caused an invalid page fault in module User32.dll.

CAUSE
=====
This occurs when the Works addin is installed by OEM versions of Works Suite2000

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, uninstall and reinstall the word for works addin:

1. Click on to START move to Settings, Select Control Panel
2. Double click ADD\REMOVE Programs
3. Select WORD for Works addin and click on the add\remove button
4. Select Uninstall addin
5. Restart the computer
6. Upon restart of windows, insert Works Suite 2000 Disk 1 (setup) in CD-ROM drive
7. Double click on My Computer, Right click on CDROM drive and select explore
8. On the explore window, double click on WORDADD folder
9. In the WORDADD folder, doulble click on SETUP.EXE
10. And Reinstall the addin
11. Restart the computer.

MORE INFORMATION
================

This Fix has been tested on only two machines. One was a customers machine. After restart the error no longer occurred.
