RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, use one of the following methods:

Using Extract.exe:

1. Using the Windows Explorer, copy the Extract.exe file from the SYSTEM folder
of your Microsoft Office 2000 Disc One to the Desktop folder on your
computer.

2. On the Start menu, point to Programs and click MS-DOS Prompt. If you are
using Microsoft Windows NT, click Command Prompt instead.

3. At the command prompt, type the appropriate command for your operating system
and then press ENTER:

Windows 95/98:

extract d:\ie5\en\setupw95.cab imagehlp.dll /L c:\windows\system

This command assumes that drive D is your CD-ROM drive and that Windows is
installed in the path C:\Windows.

Windows NT:

extract d:\ie5\en\setupw95.cab imagehlp.dll /L c:\winnt\system32

This command assumes that drive D is your CD-ROM drive and that Windows NT is
installed in the path C:\Winnt.

4. After the file has been extracted, close the MS-DOS Prompt window.

When you run Microsoft Office 2000 Setup, the problem should not occur.

Using System File Checker (Windows 98 only):

1. On the Start menu, point to Programs, and then point to Accessories.

2. Point to System Tools and click System Information.

3. On the Tools menu, click System File Checker.

4. In the Select an option and click Start option group, click Extract one file
from installation disk.

5. In the Specify the system file you would like to restore edit text box, type
the following:

Imagehlp.dll

6. Click the Start button.

7. In the Restore from edit text box, type in the following:

:

where is the drive letter where the Office 2000 Disc
1 is located.

8. In the Save file in edit text box, type the following:

:\Windows\System

where is the drive where Windows is installed.

9. If you are prompted to create a backup directory for the file being replaced,
click OK to accept the default path for the backup directory. If you are
prompted to create the directory, click Yes.

10. When the file has been successfully extracted, a dialog box with the
following message will be displayed:

The file has been successfully extracted.

Click OK, and then click the Close button.

When you run Microsoft Office 2000 Setup, the problem should not occur.
