This Application Cannot Display the EULA
Works Error Message: ...This Application Cannot Display the End User License Agreement (EULA)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The information in this article applies to: Microsoft Works 2000 Microsoft Works 6 Microsoft Works Suite 2000 Microsoft Works Suite 2001 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SYMPTOMS The first time you start one of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, you may receive an error message similar to the following: This application cannot display the end user license agreement (EULA). CAUSE This behavior can occur if one or more of the following files is missing or damaged: Eula.txt Eulareg.dll Wks5eula.txt Wks6eula.txt Wks6warr.htm RESOLUTION To resolve this issue, copy the missing or damaged files from the installation CD-ROM to the Works Shared folder on your hard disk: Insert the appropriate CD-ROM for your version of Microsoft Works into your CD-ROM drive. Press and hold down the SHIFT key when you insert the CD-ROM to prevent the program from starting automatically. Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box, type the appropriate line for your version of Works, and then click OK Works 2000 Standard CD-ROM and Works 6 CD-ROM: cd-rom:\common\MSShared\WKShared Works Suite 2000 Disc 2 CD-ROM and Works Suite 2001 Disc 1 CD-ROM: cd-rom:\MSWorks\common\MSShared\WKShared where cd-rom is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive. Click to highlight the Eulareg.dll file, and then press and hold down the CTRL key as you click to highlight the Wks5eula.txt file. On the Edit menu, click Copy. Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box, type the following line (including the quotation marks), and then click OK "drive:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Works Shared" where drive is the drive letter of the hard disk on which Microsoft Windows is installed. On the Edit menu, click Paste. If you are prompted to overwrite the files, click Yes. Close the Works Shared window. In the WKShared window, right-click the Eula.txt file, and then click Copy. Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box, type the following line (including the quotation marks), and then click OK "drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Works\Setup" where drive is the drive letter of the hard disk on which Microsoft Works is installed. On the Edit menu, click Paste. If you are prompted to overwrite the file, click Yes. Close all open windows.
