mhputilu.dll not found

SYMPTOMS
========

When you attempt to start one of the programs listed at the beginning of this
article, you may receive the following error message:

A required .DLL file, MHPUTILU.DLL, was not found.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior can occur if Norton CrashGuard or Dr. Watson is installed on your
computer and is running in the background when you start one of the programs
listed at the beginning of this article.

The programs listed at the beginning of this article install the Mhpmrg.exe file
which is linked to the Mhputilu.dll file.

If either Norton CrashGuard or Dr. Watson are running when you start one of the
programs listed at the beginning of this article, you receive the error message
mentioned in the "Symptoms" section of this article if the Mhputilu.dll file is
not found on your computer.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, rename the Mhpmrg.exe file:

1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click "Files or Folders".

2. In the Named box, type "mhpmrg.exe" (without the quotation marks).

3. In the "Look in" box, click My Computer, and then click Find Now.

4. In the list of found files, right-click the Mhpmrg.exe file, and then click
Rename.

5. Type "mhpmrg.old" (without the quotation marks), and then press ENTER.

6. Close all open windows on the desktop, and then restart the computer.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at
the beginning of this article.
