Why do I receive an error, when I attempt to print from MS® Publisher 98?

When I try to print from Microsoft Publisher 98 the "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down" occurs. The details reveal, "MSPUB caused a general protection fault in module 3DFX16V3.DRV."
This may occur if you have the 3DFX Voodoo3® video adapter, and are attempting to print by clicking on FILE | PRINT.
To work around the problem, perform the steps from either one of the two solutions listed below:


Solution 1:

Use the Print Button:
1. To print from Publisher, use the Print button on the toolbar instead of clicking on FILE | PRINT.


Solution 2:

Use the Prepare file for Printing Service:
1. Click on FILE | PREPARE FILE FOR PRINTING SERVICE.
2. Click on Set up publication.
3. Select the color depth. Either Full color or Black, White, and Shades of Gray.
4. Click on Next.
5. Click on Select a specific printer.
6. Click on the >> button and verify the printer is listed.
7. Click on OK.
8. Click on Next.
9. Click on FILE | PRINT PROOF.
